From 24 to 25 January, La Folle Journée de Nantes… à Ancenis-Saint-Géréon takes to the Théâtre Quartier Libre for an edition on the theme of rivers, an invitation to travel: waters, works, worlds.

Genshin Impact – Arr Eloi Boulanger: this musical piece is based on an open-world adventure role-playing game in which a traveller journeys through a number of worlds, including “Fontaine”, the world of water – Merlin – Thierry Deleruyelle: in reference to Morgane, the Lake Fairy – One Piece – Arr Eloi Boulanger/Mathieu Dehays: this piece follows the adventures of a boy who wants to become the next king of pirates. The story takes place in a world dominated by the oceans – Moana – Arr Jay Bocook: an initiatory voyage aboard a pirogue to the Polynesian island of Motunui – The River Kwaï march: music from the film The Bridge on the River Kwaï – Pirates of the Caribbean – Klaus Badelt – Arr John Wason: music from the film Pirates of the Caribbean.

After three programmes focusing on 18th-century popular music and its relationship with learned music in Ireland, Scotland, Sweden and Norway, The Curious Bards now explore these close links within the work of one of the greatest English composers of the 17th century, Henry Purcell.
