Oscar – Théâtre du Passant

VALLONS-DE-L’ERDRE

Performance

Come and discover the twists and turns of a 1958 play performed by the troupe Le Passant!

That morning, the great CEO Bertrand Barnier knew very quickly that he shouldn’t have got out of bed, and that he was in for a dark day. One of those days you wouldn’t wish on your worst enemy. A day of hell when everything conspires against you! And so he lived a waking nightmare, filled with suitcases whose contents changed by the hour, while his daughter changed heads and fiancés every time a door slammed. To top it all off, his accountant and confidant, the impertinent Christian Martin, steals from him with boundless nerve, telling him he’s getting a good deal. What’s more, he wants to marry his daughter. Everyone ganged up on Bertrand Barnier. Even the maid, who dreams of marriage and aristocracy. And he can’t count on the support of his wife, the charming Madame Barnier, who takes everything in her stride and smiles unfalteringly. And then there’s Oscar, his chauffeur, whom he’s thrown out of the house. He leaves all the time and comes back when he shouldn’t. And Philippe, his coach, who’s got a brain the size of a broken pea. And finally that bloody suitcase that never contains what he wants!
