The Pays d'Ancenis may be famous for its wines... but beer also has its place! Local micro-breweries are flourishing in our area, reflecting the commitment and expertise of our craftsmen. These young producers are keen to reinvent quality beer by infusing it with a large dose of creativity and authenticity to bring you unique, 100% local flavours.

Brewers in solidarity

At the Tête haute brewery, we make traditional beer with organic hops grown in the hop fields created by this tribe of passionate brewers. But we're going one step further by also forging social links! Located in Le Cellier, Tête haute is the first craft brewery in France to work with people on the margins of employment, offering them real support for 24 months.

An eco-responsible brewer

Sylvain Piau, from the O'Malt brewery in Oudon , is one of the most passionate brewers in the world, and is always on the lookout for new flavours. In addition to the classic lagers, whites and browns, he has added craft beers with more surprising flavours, such as a black with tonka bean or a honey lager, and even a whisky from Oudon. Better than that, he works mainly with local ingredients: the barley malt is grown in Loire-Atlantique and Brittany, and the honey harvested in the west of France is packaged at the honey factory in Ancenis-Saint-Géréon. It also works with the 'Bout à Bout' association to deposit and wash its bottles, and has launched a range of aperitif biscuits made from drèches (leftover cereals after brewing).
