Domaine du Bois Rond

The vines at Domaine du Bois Rond in Maumusson stretch over 3 hectares and feature 10 grape varieties, giving rise to around ten cuvées of natural Breton wines.

All the vines are farmed organically (certified by Ecocert since 2020) using an approach inspired by biodynamics. Yields are around 20 hl/ha. The wines are lively, unfiltered, with no added sulphur, and made exclusively from fermented grape juice known as ‘Natures’: without chaptalisation, acidification, filtration, fining or any other oenological intervention that would alter their natural character.

Facing south or south-west, the vines grow on a variety of soils offering a unique geological richness. These specific features give each cuvée its own unique personality. The age of the vines varies from 2 years to over 100 years, with an average of 60 years. The plots, often isolated in green settings or surrounded by pastures, are protected from any direct or collateral pollution, guaranteeing their healthy development.

The vineyards are located in Maumusson, Ancenis-Saint-Géréon, Oudon, Drain, Saint-Pierre-de-Chevillé (Sarthe) and Vouvray-sur-Loir (Sarthe). The grape varieties grown include various grolleaux, pineaux d’aunis, gamays (including the local vestige “Magny”), cabernets francs, pinot gris, chenins and syrah.

White, red, rosé and sparkling wines are produced.

The wines are available for sale directly from the estate, with the option of ordering online or using an order form that can be downloaded from the website and sent by email. Wine tastings are available by appointment.

The Domaine is a member of the Pinards et Jus d’Ancenis association, which brings together winegrowers from the Ancenis hillsides, from Ingrandes to Oudon, as far as La Chapelle-Glain and Cornouaille.
