Domaine le Passe Pont

LIGNE

David has been immersed in the world of wine for as long as he can remember. He comes from a line of emblematic Nantes winegrowers, and is the son of a well-known family: Jo Landron, Manu Landron and Benoît Landron. Each of them is a passionate defender of the region’s traditional grape varieties, including Melon de Bourgogne, Gamay and Pinot Gris, also known as Malvoisie.

David’s first experience of winegrowing was in the Vallet area. Then, in 2022, he decided to strike out on his own and set up Domaine Passe Pont in Ligné, to the east of Nantes. Covering 6 hectares, he organically cultivates the region’s flagship grape varieties: Melon de B., Gamay and Pinot Gris. The soil is worked respectfully, with light ploughing between the rows (around 10 cm) and meticulous maintenance of the cavaillon. To protect his vines, he uses only natural treatments such as sulphur, Bordeaux mixture or plant decoctions, particularly silica-based. He also disbud and thin out the leaves… literally and figuratively!

At Domaine Passe Pont, David Landron makes natural wines full of energy. The grapes are harvested by hand and rigorously sorted before pressing. Vinification follows a no-input approach, with the exception of a slight addition of sulphur when necessary to help the wines develop. Fermentation is carried out exclusively with indigenous yeasts, and the wines are matured on their lees for between 6 and 24 months, in a variety of French oak vats and barrels.
