Ferme des Vertes Prairies – Farming operation
As the name suggests, it’s a farm! I look after light wheat-coloured cows with black mucous membranes and tips, known as Parthenaises. This is a meat breed, bred for its butchery qualities, renowned for being tender and tasty. It’s this meat that you can buy from La Ferme des Vertes Prairies, but that’s not all…
I also set aside part of my fields to grow crops:
– Wheat and buckwheat sold to the miller in Pannecé, whose flour you can buy.
– Hemp to extract its oil, sold in 1L or 1/2L.
– Pulses: lentils, lupins or chickpeas, depending on the season, sold in bulk.
You can also order meat parcels (10kg) before 11.59pm every Monday evening, and collect them every Thursday from 5.30pm to 6.45pm at the farm (Pannecé) or at Chope’n Co in Ancenis.
