The Fontaine aux Merles lake is a veritable green lung, with picnic tables in the shade and a footpath that’s ideal for a day out with family and friends. This bucolic, wooded environment is ideal for observing the flora and fauna during a nature break. Toilets and a covered area (ideal for rainy weather) are available to visitors during their visit.
The lake is also an ideal place for fishing. Fishing enthusiasts can look forward to catching pike, pike-perch, perch, tench, bream, etc. Fishing cards from the Gaule Saint Marsienne association are available from Tabac-Cadeaux Bontemps (17 rue de la libération) in Saint-Mars-la-Jaille or Vival (rue du Maréchal de Bourmont) in Freigné.
