Plan d’eau du Chêne – Oudon

/!\ Following further tests carried out on the afternoon of Saturday 25 July 2026, swimming and water sports are once again strictly prohibited in the Chêne lake until further notice, due to a significant build-up of toxin-producing cyanobacteria.

Oudon Lake is the ideal spot whether you’re keen on swimming, walking or fishing. This small lake offers lovely walking trails and a welcoming spot for a swim. Set in peaceful surroundings, you’ll find shaded picnic tables and play areas for children. You’ll find all the facilities you need to enjoy a lovely time with family or friends (toilets, a secure play area, benches to rest on, a supervised swimming area, a pétanque court, and more).
Perfect for a group outing, a 1.5km walking trail runs alongside the lake in a lush, relaxing setting. The whole family can get together here, promising some wonderful memories.

The lake is open all year round. However, the swimming area is supervised from 1 July to 31 August each year (Tuesday to Sunday inclusive, from 2 pm to 7 pm) by lifeguards. Outside this period, swimming is prohibited. In all cases, young children remain the responsibility of their parents.
/!\ Swimming may sometimes be prohibited even during the summer, depending on the results of water quality tests. Before heading there to swim, check whether swimming is permitted on the town hall’s website or by calling the town hall.

The Oudon lake is open to anglers: it is home to a good population of pike, zander, perch, carp, roach and more. Disabled access and parking facilities enable anglers with reduced mobility to easily reach the jetty, which has been specially adapted for them. Fishing permits can be purchased from ‘L’Ablette Oudonnaise’ at the Carrefour Express in Oudon (150 Rue de la Loire) or from the Oudon Tourist Office (11 Rue du Pont-Levis).

Some practical information:
– Lifeguards are on duty in the swimming area from 1 July to 31 August each year (Tuesday to Sunday inclusive, from 2 pm to 7 pm)
– Dogs on a lead are permitted throughout the site.
– The Chemin du Rio car park offers plenty of parking spaces, some of which are shaded. For cyclists, a cycle park is available at the entrance to the lake, so you can enjoy a well-deserved break in peace and quiet.

In Oudon, at the roundabout opposite the church, head towards the bridge, then turn immediately left onto Rue de la Loire. A refreshing break awaits you at the end of the street.
