Yole du Pays d’Ancenis

LOIREAUXENCE

Fille de Loire was born in 1999 out of the desire of the residents of the Communauté de Communes du Pays d’Ancenis to unite around a key part of their heritage and demonstrate that together we can achieve major projects to move a region forward, just like the crew of a yawl.

The yawl “Fille de Loire” is entrusted to the Syndicat d’Initiave de VARADES (44) “yawl section”. The S.I. de VARADES organises a large annual fair in the first week of March. The Yole section carries the flag of the Pays d’Ancenis community of communes at the fêtes Ligériennes, traditional “sailing – rowing” events and international challenges for young sailors.

The boat can carry up to 15 sailors. The association now has around thirty members, including sportsmen and women, sailing enthusiasts and rowers. The crew is open to everyone aged 14 and over. Training sessions and outings take place with a wide variety of teams, including girls and boys, young and old. This diversity is an enriching way to learn, participate, advise and better understand each other. In short, good humour, conviviality, a sense of the sea and team spirit are the lifeblood of “Fille de Loire”.

There are three or four sailings a month:
– Saturdays from 2pm to 5pm
– Sundays from 9am to 12pm
