An evening celebrating local heritage, in three parts: a screening of a film about rural life, *Nous paysans*, preceded by stories told in Gallo and accompanied by accordion music, in partnership with the Loireaux-en-Coise-based association *Patrimoine d’hier pour demain*.
The screening will be followed by a discussion based on accounts from residents of Loireaux-en-Cous on the farming world and the JAC.

The film “Nous paysans”, narrated by Guillaume Canet, tells the story of our grandparents and great-grandparents. It is the story of an incredible journey – that of French farmers who, in barely a century, have seen their world profoundly transformed. Whilst they once made up the vast majority of the country’s population, today they are nothing more than a tiny minority, yet they find themselves facing an immense challenge: how can they continue to feed France? This magnificent narrative draws on previously unpublished archives, accounts from farmers of the past and today’s agricultural workers, and the history of agriculture through its revolutions, its grandeur, its hardships, its sources of pride and its struggles…Readings in Gallo on marriage and rural life, accompanied by the accordion.
