Come and celebrate autumn at the festive pumpkin market in Varades!

CRICS, the ‘Garden of Solidarity’, invites you to the festive gourd market on the weekend of 10 and 11 October at the Jardin de la Motte, near the station.

You’ll find a wide variety of cucurbits: potimarrons, Hungarian blue squash, butternuts, Provençal musk squash, spaghetti squash and pâtissons, as well as decorative pumpkins to celebrate Halloween.

You’ll also be able to meet local producers, craftspeople and organisations throughout the weekend.

Several activities will take place at the market:
– Competition: giant pumpkin triathlon;
– Sunday at 9.00 am: free walk with Loire & Galerne (approx. 8–9 km); a birdwatching stop with the LPO will be organised around 10.30–10.45 am at La Meilleraie;
– Sunday at 10.00 am: free family nature walk with the LPO and Cyclopède;
– Sunday afternoon: musical street performance with the band Gadje Mundi (Balkan music).
