Talvi – Finnish for ‘winter’ – is a rock band from Nantes led by Jari Heinonen (ex-EV), bassist, singer and composer. Their universe combines powerful rock, new-wave, atmospheric pop and Celtic or tribal influences, in a songwriting style that combines tension and gentleness.
Heavy, dreamy guitars, organic rhythms and melodic layers combine to create a raw yet poetic aesthetic. The lyrics, in French and Finnish, explore an intimate and symbolic melancholy, fuelled by the band’s frontman’s live performance experience and Nordic roots.
