Visite du parc du Manoir de la Vignette – Journées Européennes du Patrimoine

On the weekend of 19 and 20 September, come and (re)discover the heritage of the Pays d’Ancenis as part of the European Heritage Days (JEP)!

The park, designed by André Leroy, and the Manoir de la Vignette were created in the second half of the 19th century. The park’s footpaths, restored in accordance with the original plan, offer beautiful views of the Loire, the islands and the hillsides.
The grounds are home to some magnificent trees. Recently created terraced landscaping sets the building off to its best advantage.
The reformist Arts and Crafts movement, which began in England in 1860, sought to revive an appreciation for manual labour and craftsmanship. It would go on to influence Art Nouveau.
The construction of the manor house, carried out in close collaboration with its designer, is a perfect and meticulous illustration of this movement.
All these aspects and features, together with the quality of the workmanship, have contributed to the listing of the entire complex as a historic monument.
