Gîte for 8 people in a charming old house with views over the Loire
In this village on the banks of the Loire, between Angers and Nantes, you’ll be charmed by this old house spread over three floors, featuring fine materials (terracotta floor tiles, antique parquet flooring, the tuffeau stone characteristic of the Loire region, …) and its 60 m² south-facing terrace overlooking the Loire.
On the ground floor, you’ll find a living room with a television and a fully fitted kitchen (fridge, oven, dishwasher, induction hobs, …) with direct access to the terrace. To warm up in winter after long walks, you can use the wood-burning stove (wood not provided), and to cool down in summer, you can use the
fans.
On each floor, you’ll find two bedrooms sharing the same bathroom with a bath and toilet: one has two 90 cm beds and the other has a double bed measuring 160 x 200 cm. The bathrooms are attached to one of the bedrooms and do not have a separate entrance. A separate toilet is located on the ground floor.
Outside, you can enjoy a lovely terrace with garden furniture, deckchairs and a parasol – the ideal spot to relax and admire the Loire as it changes with the hours and the seasons. For your comfort and to lighten your luggage, the beds are made on your arrival and towels are provided. The owners, who are passionate about history and antique finds, will be delighted to share the history of this village with you.
The gîte does not have private parking, but you can park in the surrounding streets or in the free public car park 50 metres away.
A historic border between Anjou and Brittany and a former trading port, the village offers a range of amenities (crêperie, pizzeria, bar and restaurants, etc.) and seasonal events, as well as a beach on the other side of the Loire in summer. You can also go for a walk or a cycle along the ‘Loire à Vélo’ cycle route and explore the surrounding villages (Saint Florent le Vieil and its abbey church, Chalonnes-sur-Loire and its market, Île Béhuard, etc.) or go fishing along the banks of the Loire. Fancy a city break? Angers, with its laid-back atmosphere, is 30 minutes away (20 minutes by train), and if you prefer Nantes, with its ‘Voyage’ and famous machines, you can get there in 50 minutes by car or 30 minutes by train – the station is just a 10-minute walk away. Other nearby activities include: the Loire Wine Route, Serrant Castle in St Georges-sur-Loire, cruises on the Loire and canoe hire. The Terra Botanica botanical park is 30 minutes away and Puy du Fou is an hour away.
