Along the banks of the Erdre and through the countryside, you’ll discover the Charlotte Bridge, the Bois de Triage and the Fontaine de la Mauricette.

This walk in the heart of Saint-Mars-la-Jaille invites you to take a break from nature, between the river and the countryside. Following the course of the Erdre, the route winds its way between shady paths and hedged farmland, offering a peaceful and rejuvenating stroll.
The route leads to the Pont de la Charlotte. Probably dating from the XIIᵉ century, this ancient bridge spans the Erdre and nearby preserves the remains of the seigneurial mill of La Champelière, once known as the “Moulin aux Clous”.
See the Fontaine de la Mauricette, nestling in the greenery. This ancient spring, whose overhang has now collapsed, is marked by a wet mark on the ground. It was once renowned for its healing properties.
With its discreet heritage and unspoilt nature, this pleasant walk reveals all the tranquillity and authentic charm of the area.
