Take a stroll along the meadows, banks of the Loire and wooded paths to discover the flora and fauna of this Loire village and enjoy the gentle flow of the river.
8.3 kilometres.
The walk takes in beautiful views of wet meadows and ancient branches of the Loire. The route passes through wooded and shady areas, ideal for relaxing. From the Gorget bridge, you can admire the landscape and spot birds such as herons, ducks and teal.
Along the Loire, you can follow the towpath, used by walkers, cyclists and fishermen depending on the season.
Along the way, you can take a break at the guinguette La Guinch’ette (open from spring to autumn) or enjoy water sports activities with the canoe hire company Courant de Loire.
You can also visit Saint-Pierre de Montrelais church, famous for its 16th-century stained-glass window, now a listed historic monument, and take in an exhibition at the Pays d’Ancenis contemporary art centre (MAT).
It’s a walk that gently combines nature, wildlife and heritage.
