Into the water!
It's sunny, it's hot, and all our paths lead to water! We may not have the sea, but water is everywhere here: in our lakes, our ponds, our rivers... It's part and parcel of our lives. We swim in it, we slide in it, we fish in it... Follow the guide and dive in without moderation!
Take a dip!
3 cool spots!
Where can you swim by the beach? At Lac de Vioreau and the lakes at Le Chêne in Oudon and Pont-Cornouaille in Mésanger! Swimming is permitted and supervised at all three sites in summer. There are also playgrounds, picnic tables and water sports facilities to extend the day...
Lac de Vioreau is the place to be when it comes to leisure activities, with a multitude of things to do on the water...
At the Chêne lake, you can enjoy a siesta in the shade of the trees. And at Mésanger, you can even bring your own sausages and merguez to grill on the barbecues! Isn't life great in the Pays d'Ancenis?
Swimming lessons!
Since 2023, a swimming pool has been installed near the beach at Lac de Vioreau! With a pool measuring 12 x 6 metres and 1.5 metres deep, swimmers can enjoy a new facility in an exceptional setting during the summer months. Swimming lessons for children and adults are given by three lifeguards from Nantes natation (registration at Joué-sur-Erdre town hall).
I can't, I've got a pool!
Latest information on our swimming pools: The Jean Blanchet aquatic centre in Ancenis-Saint-Géréon and the Alexandre Braud open-air swimming pool in Vallons-de-l'Erdre will undergo renovation work in 2024-2025. Follow this link to find out more
Two open-air pools open in the summer!
The one at Saint-Mars-La-Jaille has a small pool for younger children, a large pool equipped with swimming lines and diving boards, sunbathing beaches, a paddling pool with a water jet, as well as outdoor games, table tennis and a petanque area. What's more? Right next to the pool, an 18-hole mini-golf course based on the legend of Snow White, open only in July and August.
At Ancenis-Saint-Géréon, the gates are open from the start of the Easter holidays to but not including the All Saints' Day holidays. A 25-metre heated outdoor pool welcomes swimmers and divers (2 diving boards, 1m and 3m high).
And if you want to swim all year round without the shivers, head for the Jean Blanchet aquatic centre! Fancy a few more lengths? We're waiting for you in the 25-metre pool! Rather play with the kids? You'll find us in the paddling pool and leisure pool. Looking to relax and pamper yourself? Sauna, hammam and jacuzzi are there for you, free of charge!
