Follow the banks of the Loire from Ancenis-Saint-Géréon towards Loireauxence (Varades).
You’ll discover the fishing village of La Meilleraie, with a beautiful view of Saint-Florent-le-Vieil and its abbey church.
Take the bridge to Saint-Florent-le-Vieil, a charming “Petite Cité de Caractère”. Stroll through the narrow streets and take in the superb panorama from Mont Glonne.
Continue towards the Boire Sainte-Catherine, an old branch of the Loire, then join Liré via the Petit Fourneau.
Cross the bridge and return to Ancenis-Saint-Géréon to discover the town’s rich heritage and history.
This walk of almost 30 kilometres will give you an authentic interlude in the heart of the Loire countryside.
Important information: Temporary closure of the route de la Garenne in Orée-d’Anjou (Liré) until 31 December 2026 – diversion to the route de la Rabottière (see photo).
